AI Can (Mostly) Outperform Human CEOs
The authors note a running joke that companies wanting to use AI to bring down costs should start by replacing their CEOs. The researchers decided to see how that might work out. As you can guess from the title, they found that generative AI was much than humans on most strategic tasks. However, it had one fatal flaw: it did not respond well to novel (or “black swan”) events, such as coping with the Covid-19 pandemic.
