Some employees are destroying value. Others are building it. Do you know the difference?
This is not an article about collaborative intelligence (CI). But, while working with clients to re-skill or up-skill their talent to take advantage of CI, we’ve run into this issue repeatedly. Abba is making more than $2 million a week touring as avatars
This article was published on Sept. 4, but I just saw it this week. (Scroll down to the middle of the article to see the headline.) It describes a daily show that runs in London showing avatars of the members of ABBA backed by a 10-piece band. It has generated more than $150M in revenue. The technologies deployed could provide a means for old bands to continue to “tour” for as long as there is demand for their music.

MagicAvatar: Multimodal Avatar Generation and Animation
I’m not sure what to make of this. In this paper, the authors outline a means of separating avatar generation from motion programming. This allows you to add your own “identity” to the generated video. Thus, you could supply a photo of yourself and add prompts to produce a video of you performing martial arts moves, even if you don’t know how. Here’s a video that accompanies the paper.
