How to Introduce and Benefit from AI and Collaborative Intelligence in Your Organization
A Six-Part Video Series
The video series:
In March 2023, I recorded and posted the original versions of these recordings. We have just reproduced them using AI to demonstrate how collaborative intelligence works on a small scale.
We used Audiate, an AI-driven speech-to-text product, to record me speaking over my presentation. Audiate is from TechSmith, the maker of Camtasia. We use Camtasia to produce our videos, so we used Audiate for speech-to-text because it integrates easily with Camtasia.
We used Audiate to edit the text to remove unwanted pauses, etc., and then used Grammarly to improve the quality of the video script.
We cut/pasted the video script into Murf, an AI-driven text-to-speech and video tool. We chose “Ava” as the speaking voice and generated the voiceover. We used Camtasia to marry the video and audio recordings to produce the final product.
The quality of the voiceover is good. It’s not as good as I could have done it myself. I could have added more emphasis in key spots and more personality in general. However, it was much faster. It took 3-5 hours to produce each of the original videos due to editing the voiceover, re-recording and splicing places where I made mistakes, applying filters to the sound to make it consistent, etc. It took three hours to reproduce all six.
As I say in the second video, one category of CI applications is improving human performance. The dramatic increase in productivity we gained is more than worth losing a bit of voiceover quality because it also introduced consistency. Each video sounds exactly the same. The original videos did not, due to variations introduced in each recording.
This is a very simple example, but it demonstrates the performance gains available through the application of collaborative intelligence. These gains were achieved with off-the-shelf applications only. Imagine what is possible by combining such applications with those specific to your organization’s needs.
